My response to Creative Therapy's catalyst #50, "What do you turn to to get you out of a bad mood?".
There is nothing like escaping to my scrapbooking room to snap me out of a bad mood. There really is no better remedy than that. I close my door, put some music on, and lose myself in paper, paint, pens, and glue. Oh yeah!
I've just recently been very fascinated with art journaling after seeing a few projects and checking out art journals by the greats of Teesha Moore and Pamela Garrison. Man, I wish I had known about art journaling back in the day when I filled up journal after journal. I tried my hand at it last night and it was fabulous fun. I'll try and post some when I get the courage to do so. Remember, it's an art journal. It's more personal than a scrap page. I'll have to think about this.
Have a happy day one and all. My bratty son is pestering me to use my computer... he just has to play the Hulk.. ey-yi-yi

This photo of our Monte Carlo brings back sweet memories of numerous rides to the cottage and all the fun we had with friends and family. We'd all pile in, all 15 of us, and sometimes including the dog. We'd be jammed in, back in the days when seat belts weren't mandatory, listen to music cranked up, laugh, joke, and just enjoy the summer breeze coming through the window. This car took us to our cottage for so many blissful weekends. Until. The. Crash. August 5, 1989. We lost our Monte Carlo and we lost our dad. Now photos of the Monte Carlo also brings with it memories of great pain and loss. Such a juxtaposition of feelings: love/hate; happy/sad; joy/grief. I miss our Monte Carlo, and miss my dad.
Thanks for looking.

Yup, you got it. She got to meet Mr Big, from Sex in the City, up close and personal. I don't even know his real name! He made a visit where she works and she got such a kick out of it. She thinks he's a real 'hunk', "now he's a man", she says! Smile. Oh, my sister is the girl in the red shirt on the far right. Her friend told her she should have kicked the girl out that's next to her so she could get closer. Laugh. You can tell she's all giddy, and all googly, just by looking at her flushed cheeks and her stance. Such a dork. Wouldn't that be nice having men that look like him roaming around your work place!! Actually, I like 'em looking more rough and tumble, the Springsteen kind! Laugh.
Laugh... ooh calm down Domenic... I'm only kidding! (the husband gets a tad jealous when I talk about t'other men!). Love you babe the mostest!
Have a great night!

Who me? I don't have secrets! I wish I did! Laugh.
Ok, so maybe I have a few 'little' secrets like who's pregnant; who's dating who, behing what's his face's back; who's in debt; you know, those kinds of secrets.
There's a great quote by Kahlil Gibran (Lebanese born American philosophical essayist), who says, "If you reveal your secrets to the wind you should not blame the wind for revealing them to the trees". How true is that.
I'm a good secret keeper, as per my page, I hear nothing, I see nothing, and I say nothing. Secrets! What secrets?!?!?!?
Have a wonderful day!

I've loved Springsteen and the E Street Band since I was 14 years old. Bruce is a master lyricist, and his band are musical geniuses. There's a whole big deal being made of the scam TicketMaster and TicketsNow are running, and hence my trouble in getting any tickets. Well, I could get tickets if I was willing to spend between $800 - $1200. Imagine! What a farce.
Needless to say, I'm heartbroken. I consider Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band one of the 7 Wonders of the World. And I will die trying to see him in concert. I've not tried before because I never thought I'd be able to get tickets, the one time that I do try, I REALLY can't get tickets. I'm so sad. I've been moping all day. I'll keep trying but I don't have much hope.
Just look at the man. At 59 and he's still so hot! I absolutely love everything about him. He just reaks "sexy". That superbowl performance was just sublime. I think I would just pee my pants if I actually got to see him live. He's got such a great stage presence, and his music and lyrics are fabulous, ahhh.... one day.
Got this photo off his website, brucespringsteen.net. Ahhhhh wish me luck....
Favorite Springsteen song: I could say Thunder Road, Born to Run, The River, Atlantic City, She's the One, Lost In the Flood, Back Streets, Racing In the Street, Pointblank or even Rosalita, but I really think it would have to be Mary Queen of Arkansas from Greetings From Asbury Park. It's so hard to just pick one, they're all my favorites!
